Crafting Guide
Crafting is a great way to make discoveries and get or make useful items for your own use or to be traded to other players.
There are two categories of crafting skills, bushcraft skills (gathering) and other crafting skills (creation). Bushcraft skills are done by interacting with various resource nodes all over the maps while the other skills are done using the crafting menu (the b icon).
Different to your combat skills, your character does not select them on start-up, rather, you have to buy them from Master Valentino, whom you can find in New Hope Village.
He will sell you bushcraft skills for 50 legend pieces and all other skills for 100 legend pieces. When you start your character, you will probably not have enough cash to buy all the skills, so meet him him once in a while and see, which training you can afford.
Except for the gathering part of bushcraft skills, all crafting skills need plans to be performed. Basic plans can be bought from the Masters Shaun and Shanmera in the crafter's house in New Hope Outskirts. Each time you actively use a crafting skill, you have a chance for the discovery of a new resource type or plan, which will help you level up. How many discoveries you can make in a skill depends on how many skill-points you have invested into it.
Every crafting skill gives you a number of 1 - 6 basic discoveries without putting any further skill-points into it, so that I would recommend you get them all, especially when you seem to have reached a limit of things you can discover. I would however not distribute the skill-points you gain on level up on more than three crafting skills. If you plan on skilling up your weapon and magic skills as well, I would recommend to reduce the number of crafting skills you develop even more.
More information about using particular crafting skills can be found here:
Beta Strategy Note: If you want to level really high in the limited environment of the beta, choose weapon smithing as one of the skills you want to develop, as that skill gives you an incredible, seemingly unlimited amount of potential discoveries for every five skill points invested into it.

Hey Mamba
Since I used the pic of Master Valentino on the Bushcraft page, maybe the one you have of Shaun and Shanmera would be good on this page. What do you think?
